To Make Elderberry Syrup:
Add 2.5 oz of the contents of pouch to 3 C water. Bring to boil. Simmer for 1 hour. Remove from heat. Strain. Cool 10 minutes then add 8 oz local honey. Stir to combine. Cool to room temperature. Store syrup in airtight container in refrigerator.
To Make Elderberry Spiced Tea (a Keto/ sugar-free option). Omit the honey completely.
To Make Elderberry Maple Syrup Alternative - use Maple Syrup instead of Honey
To Make Elderberry Gummies: You'll need one cup of the Elderberry Syrup that you made, 1/4 c gelatin powder and 1/2 cup hot water. Stir to dissolve the gelatin in 1/4 cup of the syrup. Add the hot water and stir. Add the remaining 3/4 c of the elderberry syrup and whisk. Pour into silicone molds and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Store in airtight container.
